Walt Disney World resort hopping.
"Your Heart Will Lead You Home"
Walt Disney World Resorts
Recently Rebekah and I have been planning another trip to Walt Disney World. That
means we've been trying to make the single most important decision - for us anyway - where
to stay. In the past we've stayed at Coronado Springs, Dixie Landings (Magnolia Bend and
Alligator Bayou), Wilderness Lodge and a brief stay in a garden room of the Contemporary.
Separately she's also stayed at the Caribbean Beach and I've stayed at the All-Star Music
and the Yacht and Beach Club. Now what?

I know many people say it really doesn't matter
where you stay, after all you're spending most of your time at the parks and you only
sleep at the hotel. But for us where we stay is very important. In fact, my favorite part
of visiting Walt Disney World is getting to visit all the resorts. My favorite is the
Grand Floridian (someday I'll be able to stay there). Every trip I look forward to taking
the Monorail over, exiting into the beautiful lobby and eating at one or more of it's
wonderful restaurants. Two years ago we enjoyed watching the Electrical Water Pageant from
Narcoossee's and last year we had a mid-day meal at the Grand Floridian Cafe that was very
memorable. This year we're planning on trying the high tea they offer and eventually we'll
visit Victoria and Albert's as well.
Another of my favorites is the Contemporary. When
we stayed there we discovered the Concourse Steakhouse breakfast. Eating Mickey Sticky
Buns while the Monorail passed overhead whisking guests off to the Magic Kingdom was a
blast. I also love to go to the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary and walk
outside for a view from above "The World."
The only lobby that even comes close to the Grand
Floridian is the Wilderness Lodge. But my favorite part of the Lodge is the view out the
back - looking beyond the pool, the waterfalls, the geyser and onto Bay Lake.

This year we're considering staying at the
Boardwalk Inn. We love the Boardwalk area, we have "fond" memories of the street
juggler juggling knives around my wife. We also enjoyed our trips into Jellyrolls and
Atlantic Dance. Spoodles also has a great breakfast buffet and I love the crepes on a
stick.
I could go on and on, but you get the picture. I'm
now starting the process of preparing for the trip - watching Walt Disney World videos
I've seen a million times before, listening to the park albums, scrolling through pictures
from previous trips. And as much as I'm looking forward to riding Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
and Tower of Terror again and watching Illuminations, the one image that keeps coming back
into my mind is stepping into the Grand Floridian that first time. I can't wait!

Buttons
Recently on the discussion boards something has happened that has really taken me
by surprise. Readers have started asking for T-Shirts, buttons and pins that say
LaughingPlace.com on them. Here we have a bunch of Disney fans with all the thousands of
Disney-related items to choose from, I never guessed some of them would want to wear
something that said LaughingPlace.com on it. But apparently some people do. So let it not
be said we don't listen to our readers.
As a first step we're creating LaughingPlace.com
buttons. Because of the short notice, our first priority is making sure everyone attending
the Pirates of the Caribbean event on May 20th that
wants one is able to get one. Once that's over we'll make them available to anyone who
wants them. So, if you're going to be at the Pirates event and would like a
LaughingPlace.com button, simply send us (via email
or Feedback) your name (so we know who to give it to) and
how many buttons you'll need and we'll make sure we have them for you and we'll back to
you on exactly how to get them.
This Week
This should be another great week on LaughingPlace.com. The May 9th Disneyland Update is already up. On Wednesday, we're
debuting a brand new columnists ... but you'll have to wait another day to find out who it
is. This week's Trivia Contest is all about Disneyland during
Walt's Time this week's Online Poll asks the question "Which
is your favorite Disneyland thrill ride?"
