Marvel Comics to Debut New "Thor" Run this Summer
"Immortal Thor" author Al Ewing is set to continue Thor's saga.
Marvel Comics is gearing up to launch a new run of Thor as the Immortal Thor series is set to wrap this summer.
What’s Happening:
- Marvel Comics has announced that a new run of Thor is set to launch this August.
- Author Al Ewing, who’s currently penning the ongoing Immortal Thor series, is set to head the new series alongside artist Pasqual Ferry.
- Pasqual is also making a return to the character after his work on Matt Fraction’s Thor series.
- Immortal Thor is set to finish this July with its 25th issue.
- In what is described as a huge change in the God of Thunder’s story, Thor #1 is expected to kick start an unforgettable journey not seen in the character’s over 6 decade history.
- The new comic is set to see the character waking up in a version of Earth where the Norse Myths are purely myths.
- Ewing shared “Since the very first issue of Immortal Thor, Thor's been facing the end of his tale... but that was only the end of Act One. As the next chapter begins, Thor must face threats he's never faced, from a place he's never been... until now. Is he alive? Is he dead? Is he immortal... or much, much more? You'll have to join us to find out."
- The cover seen above was created by Alex Ross.
- Thor #1, which is set to debut on August 27, is available for preorder now.
- Marvel Comics has huge plans for August. In addition to Thor, 6 major issues in the Ultimate Universe series are set to debut throughout the month.
- Next month, Spider-Man fans will be able to set out on a new arachnid adventure in Giant Amazing Spider-Man #1.
