First Trailer for “Freakier Friday” Debuts, Revealing More Plot Details
Make good choices, as things are about to get FREAKIER…
Things are about to get freaky as the first trailer for Freakier Friday, the highly anticipated sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday, has arrived.
What’s Happening:
- Yesterday, a video premiere on YouTube has appeared, titled “Things are about to get FREAKIER…" The image, in front of the iconic purple and green from Freaky Friday, says “make good choices tomorrow…"
- Sure enough, a first look at this summer’s highly anticipated sequel Freakier Friday has debuted.
- In the trailer (which is soundtracked to Chappell Roan’s earworm “Hot To Go"), we’re introduced to new characters and get a rundown of who’s swapping places with who this time.
- Per usual, with the trailer’s arrival, we also got a new poster, that harkens back to the original:
- Freakier Friday sees Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return to their iconic roles, and will be released in theaters on August 8th, 2025.
- A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.
- Other returning cast members from the original film include Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
- They are joined by Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Jordan E. Cooper.
- The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra. The producers are Kristin Burr, Andrew Gunn, and Jamie Lee Curtis, with Nathan Kelly, Ann Marie Sanderlin, and Lindsay Lohan serving as executive producers.
