Disney has announced that release days for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars have been pushed back. Plus, new release dates have been shared about several upcoming 20th Century Studios projects.

  • Deadline reports that Disney has pushed back the release dates for their two upcoming Avengers films.
  • Avengers: Doomsday, which was set to release on May 5, 2026, will now make its theatrical debut on December 18, 2026.
  • Its direct follow up Avengers: Secret Wars is also moving from May 5th, 2027 to December 17th, 2027.
  • According to insiders, the two films are expected to be some of the largest productions ever, with Marvel Studios and Disney choosing to give themselves more time to perfect the superhero flicks.
  • It also aligns with the same release timeframe as Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended up earning nearly $2 billion at the box office.
  • Disney also announced several release dates for upcoming 20th Century Studios projects.
  • First, Avatar fans will be able to catch Avatar: The Way of Water back in theaters on October 3, 2025. The epic sequel will return to IMAX/3D just ahead of Avatar: Fire and Ash’s December 19 release.
  • On March 27th, 2026, Ridley Scott’s upcoming thriller The Dog Days will take viewers to a post-apocalyptic world. The film stars Euphoria star Jacob Elordi.
  • The highly anticipated sequel of The Devil Wears Prada will hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
  • The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to follow Miranda Priestly as she faces the realities of a declining magazine industry.
  • No casting for the film has been announced at this time, but it is safe to assume Meryl Streep will be returning to her Oscar-nominated role. Hopefully, we will see her alongside Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway.
