Celebrate the Arrival of the Savannah Bananas with Banana-Based Treats at Disneyland Resort
Some items are new spins on old banana favorites for the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the resort.
Celebrate Savannah Bananas Day at the Disneyland Resort next week with some favorite banana treats that can be found throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
What’s Happening:
- Devotees may recall that the popular baseball team, the Savannah Bananas, are headed to Disneyland as they will be in Anaheim for some Banana Ball Games.
- The Savannah Bananas, the professional baseball team that plays a fast-paced, entertaining version of the sport called Banana Ball, are known for their showmanship, fan participation, and quick-paced games. The team's games feature choreographed dances, scoring celebrations, and other unique elements.
- They have seen a massive rise in popularity as of late, and will soon bring their antics to Anaheim for a few games.
- On May 28th, the team and sport will be heading to the Disneyland Resort for some special limited time, one-day-only fun, promised in an announcement made earlier this month.
- As part of the fun, Disneyland has reminded guests of over a dozen banana-based treats that they can get in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
- Among them, a classic banana split that is inspired by a classic dessert from the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor that is not only perfect for Savannah Banana Day, but also the 70th anniversary of Disneyland Resort Celebration.
- Elsewhere on Main Street USA, guests will also find the Banoffee Tart - a graham tart shell filled with a layer of dulce de leche, banana diplomat cream, and fresh bananas topped with vanilla bean chantilly and toffee bits.
- Blue Bayou Restaurant guests can find a Brown Butter Banana Upside-Down Cake, or outside at the Harbour Galley, a whipped Banana Dip. Even closer at the Royal Street Veranda, a Banana Sno-Ball, made with house-made banana syrup. Further down the path, guests can find a classic banana pudding at the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.
- Across the Esplanade, Disney California Adventure guests will be able to find a Banoffee Pie Cold Brew from Joffrey’s at the Cappuccino Cart, or a Strawberry Banana Sensation at Schmoozies! (where an alcoholic option is also available).
- Over in Cars Land, one can get their hands on a Banana Cone-Nanza Churro at the Cozy Cone Motel, or head back towards Paradise Gardens Park near Pixar Pier and get their hands on a Banana Split Churro near Goofy’s Sky School. Not only is this great for Savannah Bananas Day, but also a fun option for the Disneyland 70th celebration, as it's a new spin on the classic Disneyland churro- rolled in chocolate sugar with banana sauce and vanilla sauce with a cherry on top.
- Back on Buena Vista Street, guests can also get The Oswald Sundae at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream, featuring scoops of ice cream served in a waffle cup, topped off with chocolate frozen bananas.
- It’s those frozen chocolate bananas as well as fresh bananas themselves that can be found at various locations throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
- Savannah Bananas day at the Disneyland Resort takes place on May 28th, 2025, complete with a special cavalcade and more one-day only entertainment.
