Walt Disney Imagineering Invites Fans to Make Their Own Magic at Home with New YouTube Video

Take a trip to the Illusions Development Lab with Daniel Joseph to learn about the amazing tricks Disney uses at their theme parks.

Walt Disney Imagineering is inviting fans to make some magic at home with a newly shared YouTube video.

What’s Happening:

  • In a newly shared video on YouTube, Walt Disney Imagineering is inviting Disney fans to create their own magic at home.
  • Hosted by special effects and illusions specialist Daniel Joseph, the new entry into the Inside Imagineering series highlights the amazing science behind some of the Disney Parks’ greatest tricks.
  • Inside his Illusions Development Lab, Joseph takes borosilicate glass and vegetable oil to make the glass tube completely disappear, visually anyway.
  • Inviting fans at home to participate in the experiment, Joseph explains that the glass disappears due to the similarity in the glass and vegetable oils index of refraction. Essentially, that means that light is bent comparably through the two materials.
  • Watching the glass tube disappear is a really cool trick, and an important reminder of the powerful minds behind the Disney Parks.
