AREA15 Tops Out 20 Acre Expansion, Home to Universal Horror Unleashed
The installation of a piece of a Boeing 747 has also taken place, set to become a multi-use event venue.
AREA15, the popular entertainment destination in Las Vegas, has topped off their 20 acre expansion, even installing a 150 foot long section of a Boeing 747.
What’s Happening:
- AREA15 in Las Vegas has shared a first look of the latest development in its 20 acre expansion, set for a rolling opening beginning in August 2025.
- The expansion was originally announced back in 2023.
- The new area - dubbed Zone 2: The Terminals in the AREA15 District - is made up of eight buildings totaling 300,000 square feet of retail, entertainment and food-and-beverage space.
- The area is also home to a fully installed Boeing 747, one of Burning Man’s most iconic large-scale art pieces, set to become a multi-use event and nightlife venue.
- The Boeing 747 will be reimagined as a one-of-a-kind elevated nightlife experience. The fuselage will anchor AREA15’s expanded open-air collection of monumental interactive art installations.
- When the expansion is complete, the AREA15 District will boast 60 sculptures and 30 murals in its collection, making it the largest permanent installation of monumental art of its kind in the Southwest.
- AREA15 expansion’s first attraction, Universal Horror Unleashed, is slated to open this August.
- This highly-anticipated year-round horror experience will invite guests into a fully immersive horror spectacle that will be home to four haunted houses - Universal Monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer.
- Along with the haunted houses, there are four fully themed immersive entertainment areas, each with their own unique live horror experiences, as well as food and drink options.
- The completion of the building exteriors marks a pivotal moment in AREA15’s evolution from a single building into a next-generation “retailtainment" District spanning 40 acres.
- Along with Universal Horror Unleashed, the newly completed buildings will also house a curated mix of extraordinary tenants, including Museum of Ice Cream’s largest flagship location, Dolls Kill, The Escape Game, Felix & Paul Studios’ Interstellar Arc and iFLY Indoor Skydiving as well as eateries including Saint Honoré Doughnuts & Beignets, Chilango’s Tacos, Nacho Daddy and more.
What They’re Saying:
- Winston Fisher, chief executive officer, AREA15: “The installation of the 747 and the vertical rise of Zone 2: The Terminals aren’t just construction milestones—they’re symbolic of the momentum we’ve built. We’re redefining what experiential development can look like by merging visionary brands, radical creativity and the future of immersive entertainment."
