Oprah Set to Return to ABC with New Special Highlighting Menopause
The special will mark the third for the network, the previous two covering weight-loss drugs and artificial intelligence.
Oprah is returning to ABC with another, hour-long special.
What’s Happening:
- Following Oprah’s specials on weight-loss drugs and AI technology, An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution has been announced for ABC.
- The hour-long special will discuss menopause openly and frankly, a topic that is often pushed to the side though it is inevitable for women around the world.
- Medical experts, advocates, and celebrities (including Naomi Watts, who recently released a book on the topic of menopause) will be featured to talk about menopause and advocate for awareness on the matter.
- HARPO Productions is behind the special, with Oprah and Tara Montgomery on board as executive producers.
- The Hollywood Reporter shares that OB-GYN Dr. Mary Claire Haver and professor of neurology Dr. Rhonda Voskuhl will both be on hand to discuss menopause from a scientific perspective.
- An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution will air Monday, March 31st (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT) on ABC, streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
What They’re Saying:
- Oprah Winfrey: “When I was around 48 years old, I thought I was dying and went from doctor to doctor trying to understand why my heart was racing, and did not receive any answers until I picked up a book and read how heart palpitations can be a symptom indicating a change is coming to your body. This show starts the revolution of answers for millions of women throughout this country. We discuss what you need to know to best advocate for yourself when it comes to mental health, sleep, weight, sex and your brain so we can ultimately see how freeing menopause can be in your life, with the best yet to come."
