Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Hosting Screening of “Mary Poppins” Next Month
See the classic Disney film – which just celebrated its 60th anniversary – on the big screen!
Disney fans in the Los Angeles area can head to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures for a special screening of the beloved classic, Mary Poppins.
What’s Happening:
- As highlighted in Saving Mr. Banks, Walt Disney spent decades trying to bring P. L. Travers’s beloved character to the screen – an effort that ended up garnering the studio 13 Oscar nominations.
- Mary Poppins, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, will be honored by the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Hollywood with a special screening.
- This event, which costs just $5, will take place at the Ted Mann Theater on Saturday, March 22nd at 2:30 p.m.
- Prior to the screening, visual effects artist Paul Debevec will give a demonstration of the sodium vapor process in the Shirley Temple Education Studio at 12:30 p.m. This demonstration is free with general admission.
