Photos: Searchlight Pictures Hosts Vinyl Listening Party and Giveaway for “A Complete Unknown” Soundtrack in West Hollywood

Attendees received free copies of the record and other swag promoting the movie.

This past Monday evening in West Hollywood, I attended a listening party and giveaway for Searchlight Pictures’ Oscar-nominated film A Complete Unknown at the Kiosk-O-Thèque on Sunset Boulevard. Below you can find a number of photos from the experience.

The event was sponsored by Gibson guitars, Triumph motorcycles, and Levi’s jeans. When I arrived at the “Are We On Air?" Kiosk-O-Thèque (which is designed to look like a newsstand on the famous Sunset Strip) I found it decked out in vinyl copies of the soundtrack for A Complete Unknown.

The centerpiece of the activation was a photo op featuring guitars and other ephemera representing Bob Dylan, along with a screen playing the trailer for the film along the back wall.

Before getting in line I checked out some of the giveaways, which included mini-posters for the film as well as tote bags and official A Complete Unknown harmonicas.

Then it was time to line up for the giveaway, as there were only a limited number of copies of the record available for attendees. During my wait, I saw a SpaceX launch break the atmosphere over Los Angeles, and a food delivery robot struggled to make its way past the line on the sidewalk. Finally after 7:00 PM rolled around, it was time for the party to begin.

In the photos below, you can see that I received a vinyl copy of the A Complete Unknown soundtrack featuring Bob Dylan songs performed by actor Timothee Chalamet, a t-shirt-promoting the film, and one of several different totes. And after the goodies were distributed, folks proceeded to gather around the Kiosk-O-Thèque to listen to the record and other Bob Dylan recordings. It was a fun time and made me even more excited to see the movie! (I’m going to make a point to watch it before the Academy Awards at the beginning of next month, because A Complete Unknown is nominated for eight different Oscars.)

Searchlight’s A Complete Unknown is still playing in theaters, but will become available for home viewing on digital platforms beginning Tuesday, February 25th. The vinyl soundtrack for the film is available for purchase right now.
