“A Real Pain” and “Shōgun” Lead Disney’s 2025 Critics Choice Awards Wins
Other titles to take home awards include “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “X-Men ’97”
The Critics Choice Awards took place last night, and while Disney was not at the forefront of the awards, a number of its projects still took home the gold.
What’s Happening:
- After being delayed two weeks due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, the Critics Choice Awards were held last night.
- The annual Critics Choice Awards have become a key Oscars precursor, even though there is little crossover between voting bodies.
- Emilia Pérez, Wicked and The Substance took home three awards each, with Anora winning Best Picture.
- On the Disney side of things, as with previous awards shows this cycle, Shōgun has reigned supreme – earning a leading four awards.
- Pixar’s Inside Out 2 did not take home the award for Best Animated Feature, with the award instead going to DreamWorks’ The Wild Robot.
