New Trailer for Marvel Studios’ “Thunderbolts*” Debuts During the Super Bowl
“The Avengers aren’t coming, so who will keep the American people safe?”
A new trailer for Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* just debuted during the Super Bowl, which highlights the formation of this ragtag band of anti-heroes.
What’s Happening:
- Just now during the Super Bowl, a new trailer for Thunderbolts* debuted.
- The trailer begins with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine noting in a courtroom setting that “the Avengers aren’t coming," asking “who will keep the American people safe?"
- Cut to a big threat looming over a cityscape, as Bucky Barnes notes that big threat and that the other members of the soon-to-be-Thunderbolts will help him solve it. As you can see in the photo above, they are appropriately tied up.
- The hilarious, action-packed trailer is set to Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now." Watch it for yourself below.
- It’s also been revealed that Son Lux, the three-member, American experimental band best known for scoring Everything Everywhere All at Once, will be providing the score to Thunderbolts*.
- A fun, new poster for the film was also released – featuring the film’s anti-heroes on a spoof cereal box.
- In Thunderbolts*, Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it’s too late?
- Returning to their Marvel Cinematic Universe roles are Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
- The cast also includes newcomers to the MCU—Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer and Wendell Edward Pierce.
- Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts* premieres in theaters on May 2nd, 2025.
