Fourth “Spider-Man” Film with Tom Holland Sees Slight Release Date Change

Don’t worry Spidey fans, you only have to wait an extra week to see the web-slingers return!

The fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland has seen a slight change to its release date next summer.

What’s Happening:

  • Deadline reports that the Marvel Studios’ untitled fourth Spider-Man film has had its release date pushed back one week – from July 24th to July 31st, 2026.
  • This move comes as Marvel and Sony attempt to recreate some of the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, which opened during that time-frame in 2024.
  • The previous date would have also followed Christopher Nolan’s new epic, The Odyssey, which is set for release on July 17th, 2026 from Universal.
  • Another reason for the move may come down to access to Imax screens, with Nolan’s film likely having his fair share of Imax screens.
  • Spider-Man 4 will now go up against Paw Patrol 3.
  • Filming on the new Spider-Man movie is expected to begin this summer, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton helming the film.
  • The script will once again be provided by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and former Sony head Amy Pascal producing.
  • There’s no word on what the story might be at this point, with the last installment, No Way Home, ending with the world forgetting that Peter Parker was Spider-Man – including Zendaya’s MJ.
