Blizzard Beach to Celebrate 30th Anniversary in April, Typhoon Lagoon Reopening May 1st

The Walt Disney World water park will celebrate three decades with a variety of fun activities.

This April, Blizzard Beach will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with dance parties, special anniversary food & beverage items and more frosted fun than ever.

What’s Happening:

  • Beginning April 1st, Walt Disney World will be celebrating three decades of their third water park, Blizzard Beach.
  • The anniversary celebration will include a high-energy DJ spinning some tunes on the deck near the Polar Pub and Mickey and Minnie decked out in their winter attire.
  • You’ll also find snowman bowling and character-themed tubes for floating down Cross Country Creek, the park’s lazy river.
  • The party will continue throughout April with dance parties, special anniversary food & beverage items and more frosted fun than ever.
  • There will also be some family-friendly games with cool prizes such as snowflake tattoos, wintery-themed rubber ducks and snowy bubbles.

  • Following Blizzard Beach’s anniversary celebration in April, Walt Disney World’s other water park, Typhoon Lagoon, will reopen on May 1st.
  • Disney did not explicitly state whether Blizzard Beach would be closing at that time, but over the last few years, only one water park has operated at a time.
  • The recently launched Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass allows guests to visit Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon over and over again now through May 23rd, 2025, for just $79 plus tax.
  • New this year, Walt Disney World hotel guests can enjoy water park admission on their Resort check-in day, included with their stay.
