Walt Disney World Reveals New Popcorn Bucket Based on Fantasyland Favorite

It's going to be hard to keep this one a Pop-Secret.

Walt Disney World is showing off their newest in a long line of specialty popcorn buckets, this one featuring designed to resemble Fantasyland’s landmark carousel.

What’s Happening:

  • Those visiting Walt Disney World can get their hands on a new specialty popcorn bucket, this one designed to resemble the Prince Charming Regal Carousel as found in the Magic Kingdom.
  • You can pick up the specialty popcorn bucket on your next visit to the park for $30.00 as of press time.
  • Just like the real one, this carousel actually rotates and plays music! Fans will immediately recognize the tune as “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from the classic Walt Disney Animation Studios film, Cinderella.
  • Plus, just like the real carousel, it also features the adjacent Sword in the Stone decorative feature - though it appears that this one (try as you might) will not slide out.
  • The art of the carousel itself is two-dimensional on a rotating drum that houses the popcorn, and the illustrations were brilliantly crafted by artist Joey Chou.

  • West Coast fans needn’t get too jealous - perhaps with a few different touches to the artwork depicted on the kernel-carrying carousel and the attraction’s name, this bucket could easily be adapted to Disneyland’s King Arthur Carousel, so we wouldn’t be too surprised if a variant ends up there in the future.
  • Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel (formerly “Cinderella’s Golden Carousel") dates back to 1917, where it was originally located at the Palace Gardens in Detroit, Michigan and known as “The Liberty Carousel." It was later moved to Olympic Park in New Jersey before being purchased by Disney in 1967. From there, Arrow Development helped Disney restore the carousel, where the horses were each stripped and given their own unique design and was completed in time for Walt Disney World’s grand opening in 1971.

  • Walt Disney World did not specify where the new popcorn bucket will be found, so be on the lookout on your next visit to Magic Kingdom.
