Bow Art Completed as New Disney Destiny Gets Closer to Maiden Voyage Later This Year

Clearly not heeding any kind of "No Capes" advice.

The Disney Destiny, the upcoming Heroes & Villains ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, is one step nearer to completion as Disney is showing off the newly finished bow art featuring superhero Minnie Mouse.

What’s Happening:

  • The final block of the Disney Destiny, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, is in place which means that the team at Meyer Werft shipyard can turn their attention to installing exterior features that will distinguish the ship.
  • The first of these is the art on the Disney Destiny’s bow, which depicts Minnie Mouse striking a pose in her new heroic ensemble. With her cape billowing behind her (clearly not listening to any advice given in Pixar’s The Incredibles) Minnie Mouse’s outfit symbolizes the Disney Destiny’s first-of-its-kind “Heroes and Villains" design theme.
  • The elegant, hand-painted filigree continues a longstanding Disney Cruise Line tradition dating back to the fleet’s first ship, the Disney Magic, with every Disney Cruise Line vessel having a distinct character-inspired image embossed on its bow.
  • As a reminder, based on earlier released concept art, this tradition ends on the bow this year with the Disney Destiny, as the filigree gives way to a more webbed, comic-style stern piece, with Spider-Man and some Spider-Bots (familiar to Disney Parks fans) featured as this ship’s sculpture.

  • It is expected, as we get closer to  Disney Destiny’s maiden voyage in November of this year, that the team at Meyer Werft shipyard will continue to add details to the ship’s exterior and interior.
  • Beginning in November 2025, the Disney Destiny will draw on the legacies of Disney’s larger-than-life heroes and villains to forge a legendary cruise vacation steeped in the lore of illustrious Disney stories. The new Disney Cruise Line ship will debut one-of-a-kind venues and experiences that complement the extraordinary entertainment, world-class dining and unparalleled hospitality that make every Disney Cruise Line vacation legendary.
  • The Disney Destiny – sister ship to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure – will sail its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in November 2025, followed by an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean, including visits to one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
