Walt Disney World Cast Members Help Pets in Need at Orlando’s Paws in the Park Event
Disney and its cast members have supported Paws in the Park for almost two decades.
Walt Disney World cast members descended upon Lake Eola in Orlando today to support Paws in the Park, the country’s largest pet festival.
What’s Happening:
- Paws in the Park, the country’s largest pet festival, is an annual event taking place in Orlando, Florida.
- This year, more than 300 Walt Disney World cast members participated in the event, becoming one of the top fundraisers supporting Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.
- The company has supported Paws in the Park for almost two decades, raising more than $300,000 for the Pet Alliance through this program since 2015.
- Every dollar raised helps the Pet Alliance in its mission to home thousands of animals, offer low-cost veterinary care and manage shelter intake.
- But this isn’t the only time cast members support local animal shelters, as many volunteer year-round. In fact, cast members have spent more than 31,000 hours at Pet Alliance locations in Central Florida since 2014.
What They’re Saying:
- Steve Bardy, Executive Director at Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando: "Disney and their extraordinary VoluntEARS have made a world of a difference for the animals at Pet Alliance. Their years of support, unwavering dedication and compassion has helped us so much. We are so grateful."
- Russ Brown, Disney Cast Member: “I’ve brought my dog Barkley here every year since we’ve rescued him. It’s our favorite annual tradition to do together because we get to support rescues and animals who are looking for their forever homes."
- Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Walt Disney World Resort: “We create happiness in our community, whether that’s for people or pets. Our cast love showing up and showing out at Paws in the Park every year. I’m always blown away by the impact they make."
