More Info Revealed About Donkey Kong Country at Epic Universe’s Super Nintendo World

Donkey Kong and Rambi the Rhinoceros are nearly ready to meet guests.

The Discover Universal Blog has dug in deeper with details for the Donkey Kong Country section of Super Nintendo World coming to Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort.

What’s Happening:

  • In a new post titled “Top Things Fans Can Look Forward to in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Epic Universe," the Discover Universal Blog has gone into more detail on what guests will find in the Donkey Kong Country section of Super Nintendo World when it opens alongside the Mario section in May.  
  • Donkey Kong Country just opened last month at Universal Studios Japan and Epic Universe will mark its debut in the United States, since Universal Studios Hollywood’s version of Super Nintendo World only contains the Mario portion.  
  • The centerpiece Golden Temple and the Mine-Cart Madness attraction it‘s the home to are of course spotlighted, along with the noteworthy effect which makes it appear that guests are riding on a broken coaster track where you must leap over gaps.

  • Other elements of Donkey Kong Country that are highlighted are “ a cool Rambi activity," referring to longtime Donkey Kong character Rambi the Rhinoceros, who is part of the area via an animatronic figure.
  • Guests will also be able to visit Donkey Kong’s Treehouse where you can meet and take photos with Donkey Kong himself.

 

  • Also mentioned is the Funky’s Fly ‘n’ Buy store and the The Bubbly Barrel sweet shop.
  • Epic Universe opens May 22, 2025 at Universal Orlando Resort.
