Two Popular Walt Disney World Attractions Dropping Virtual Queue System

"Awwww I got 'Conga,' again!"

At long last, guests will be able to freely use a standby line at the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom as well as the highly repeatable Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT.

What’s Happening:

  • After years of running the attraction with the system, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is finally abandoning the Virtual Queue system.
  • Along with the popular EPCOT attraction, over at Magic Kingdom, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also be dropping the mandatory queue system.
  • Both Virtual Queue systems will drop on February 25th, 2025
  • This means that at this time, there are no Virtual Queue systems in place for any attraction at Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort.
  • This should be great news for fans, especially of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, since the attraction’s inherent nature is for repeatability, with randomly selected soundtrack options for the attraction that demand repeat rides - something that could not be done with the virtual queue system which only allowed for one free ride with park entry should you have been able to secure a spot in the first place. Additional rides could essentially be purchased (if available) via the Individual Lightning Lane option, meaning guests could experience the attraction a maximum of two times per day.
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened last summer at Magic Kingdom and has employed the Virtual Queue system ever since, whereas its Disneyland counterpart opened on November 15th, 2024 and abandoned their Virtual Queue system on December 10th. Meaning it went less than a month before giving up on the queueing system.
  • While starting February 25th, the virtual queues are gone, it is possible that they will return on future attractions or experiences, as well as merchandise and runDisney events.
