Photos: Inside Downtown Disney’s Delicious and New Disney Wonderful World of Sweets
Last Summer, Disneyland Resort announced that Marceline’s Confectionary would close for a complete reimagining into Disney Wonderful World of Sweets. Today, prior to its official opening at 3PM, Laughing Place was invited to step inside the sugary shop.
Get ready to indulge in some delicious treats at Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District. Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, a reimagined candy store concept that replaced Marceline’s Confectionary, will invite guests visiting the shopping district into a premium and distinctly Disney experience. Featuring a colorful and bold new design, the new offering will allow visitors to enjoy some of Disney Park’s iconic treats and is also introducing some new items not previously available at the resort, including Werther’s Original Caramel Popcorn. Similar to the bakeries inside Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, Disney Wonderful World of Sweets features new exhibition kitchens, where passersby will be able to see these delectable delights being handmade by Disney cast members. Let’s take a look around the new shop!
Walking into Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, guests will be welcomed by the shop’s new original character Poppi. Inspired by popcorn, guests can pick up a popcorn bucket themed to the adorable addition.
Throughout the store, guests will find shelves loaded in treats surrounded by dessert inspired designs. As you look up, candy-crafted versions of Disney Parks icons can be seen decorating the walls. Even the ceiling is topped with delicious layers of frosting.
Another exciting part of any new Disney addition are the cast member costumes. Disney Wonderful World of Sweets’ outfits are just as colorful as the new store. With pastel striped shirts, khakis, an optional cardigan, and multiple apron styles, the fun of candy can be found everywhere.
Of course, no Disney bakery would be complete without a display case full of treats. Guests visiting the new retail location will find delicious cookies, rice crispy treats, marshmallow wands, and more! Don’t forget to check out the large exhibition kitchen windows to watch these delicacies being crafted.
