Accessorize with Orange Bird — New Character Plush Arrive at Create Your Own Headband Stations

"Won't you wear something sunny just for me?"

While Citrus Swirl may still be MIA from the Sunshine Tree Terrace menu, Orange Bird fans now have a new way to accessorize with the popular Walt Disney World character.

What’s Happening:

Another Walt Disney World original character has been added to the popular Create Your Own Headband offering at Disney’s Florida resort.
The adorable Orange Bird is the newest addition to the plush selection for the retail experience.
Guests participating in the customizable merchandise item are able to decorate a basic headband using small character plush to decorate the accessory.

While guests can make their own Minnie/Mickey ears with the product, more than two of the adorable plushies can be added to the headband, allowing guests to show off their favorite characters.
Another Walt Disney World original character was recently added to the plush selection, with EPCOT’s Figment.

Orange Bird, an original character created by Disney for the Florida Citrus Commission, became a mainstay at the resort upon its opening in 1971.
The FCC mascot was heavily featured throughout Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland with the organization sponsoring Sunshine Tree Terrace and The Enchanted Tiki Room.
The character maintained a presence at the park until 1986 when Disney and the FCC’s partnership ended.
However, the adorable character began gaining popularity again when Walt Disney World reintroduced Orange Bird during the resort’s 2012 40th anniversary.
Now, once again a fan favorite, the character can frequently be seen on merchandise items, including new merchandise for 2025’s EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
