Special Valentine’s Day Photo Op Appears at Pixar Place Hotel
One of Pixar's greatest love stories - told in the first 15 minutes of the film.
The Pixar Place Hotel at the Disneyland Resort is getting in on the Valentine’s Day fun and celebrating one of their most famous stories.
What’s Happening:
- Earlier we were at the Pixar Place Hotel at the Disneyland Resort, and we spotted a very fun and special Valentine’s Day activation set up.
- Located near The Sketch Pad Cafe just off the lobby, those visiting will find the Valentine Voyage, a special offering just for the holiday.
- The Valentine Voyage is an elaborate and dimensional photo backdrop right out of the classic films from Pixar Animation Studios, Up.
- The setting recreates the famous chairs (as best as possible considering real-world physics compared to its animated source material) of Carl and Ellie, as seen in the first 15ish minutes of the classic 2009 film.
- While the seats are perfect for guests to sit in, the area is also decorated with a number of specific props referencing the film, including the “My Adventure Book" photo album, and a Paradise Falls savings jar.
- When we visited, we were able to see the display, alongside a special guest - Dug from the film! Though, I must say that Dug was not in the story when Ellie and Carl were together, but a nice touch nonetheless.
- During our visit, there were no scheduled times for Dug’s appearance, so if you’re visiting in the coming days, be sure to keep your eyes open for him!
- As of press time, this “Voyage" ends with this one photo opportunity - leaving other romantic stories and settings from Pixar (looking for those WALL-E and/or Elemental photo ops ourselves) behind.
- This opportunity seems to be only available for the upcoming holiday, so be sure to head to Pixar Place Hotel as soon as possible if photos in the Fredericksen living room are on your must-do list!
