Photos: Test Track 3.0’s Canopy Begins to Take Shape, White Paint Appears on Track

Chevrolet and Disney have, once again, teamed up to celebrate transporation and technology.

A third version of Test Track is set to debut at EPCOT this summer! Let’s take a look at the construction progress of the upcoming reimagined attraction.

Coming Soon to EPCOT:

  • Laughing Place had the chance to check out the current construction at EPCOT’s Test Track reimagination.
  • Sponsored by Chevrolet, Test Track 3.0 is set to highlight humanity’s drive for a brighter tomorrow, showcasing the past, present, and future of the automotive industry.
  • Taking notes from the Test Track’s predecessor World of Motion, the thrill ride will also celebrate the technological advancements of transportation and how it connects us, while offering the thrill and excitement of driving.
  • While most of the work on Test Track is happening inside the show building, the outside of the attraction has seen major changes to previous iterations of the attraction.
  • The smaller canopy being added to the attraction has come a long way, with the majority of the metal skeleton being covered. A large section in the middle has been left indented, which aligns with the concept artwork shared by Disney Parks Blog shortly after D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last year.

  • Taking a trip aboard the Walt Disney World Monorail, we were able to get a better glimpse of the current work on the attraction’s entrance plaza and facade as well as some interesting paint work on the track.
  • You can see not much work has happened on the attraction’s round marquee planter since our last update, but looking to the background you’ll see some new work on the attraction’s turnaround.

  • Formerly a more industrial looking exposed metal, the track is being painted white. It’s highly possible this is just primer for restoring the more metallic finish.

  • Closer to the attraction’s gift shop and exit, a small cherry picker is still parked as work continues on the attraction.

  • From ground level, you can start to see the much smaller, better looking canopy peaking over the fence as they begin adding more decorative features to the structure.

  • It’s exciting to watch this iconic EPCOT attraction take on a new life, with what seems like a much more purposeful reimagination than the former 2.0 attraction. It’s also great to see the former Wonders of Life building fully showcased again with the removal of the large canopy that was added for the original Test Track.
  • We are still several months away from seeing what Disney has in store for this popular E-Ticket, but, come this summer, it’ll be amazing to hear the loud roar of the cars zooming around World Discovery again.
