Tokyo DisneySea to Hold Special Summer Celebration Ahead of Permanent Closure of “Big Band Beat”

Tokyo Disney Resort will be hosting a special celebration this summer that will lead up to the permanent closure of a longtime entertainment offering at Tokyo DisneySea.

  • The post reveals that the Big Band Beat (currently in a modified form of the original show), will come to an end on September 30th of this year, with the park holding a special event this summer to mark the end of an era at the park.

  • Located in the park’s American Waterfront themed port (land), "Big Band Beat: A Special Treat" keeps the concept of a stylish revue featuring swing jazz in this modified version of the original show. Enjoy the fantastic dances by the Disney Friends, and most of all, guests will be wowed when Mickey Mouse hits the drums!
  • The popular show is set to conclude on September 30th, 2025 to make way for a new offering at the park’s Broadway Music Theatre, that has not been announced at this time.
  • The modified version of Big Band Beat has been at the park since 2021, when it arrived to keep the concept of the original show, but made to meet health and safety standards put in place at Tokyo Disney Resort.

  • Big Band Beat has an extensive history at the park that dates back to the fifth anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea in 2006. A Christmas special debuted that same year, continuing until 2015. The show reopened in 2016, followed by the Special Treat version in 2021.
  • Special merchandise commemorating the event is expected to go on sale on July 1st, 2025, and will feature jazz motifs, including drums and records.
  • Special menus of food offerings are also expected to debut for this Big Band Beat celebration.
