Construction Walls Near Future Pirates-Lounge Removed or Scaled Back at Walt Disney World

The opening of the new Pirates lounge is still slated for the Winter of 2025

We’re still quite some time away from the 2025 opening of a new Pirates-themed lounge in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, but park regulars have noticed that some of the construction walls in the area have begun to be scaled back or removed entirely.

What’s Happening:

  • Construction walls have scaled back near the Pirates of the Caribbean at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, allowing for a bit more space in the pathways and gift shop near the Adventureland staple.
  • This work takes place as the area gets ready to introduce a new Pirates of the Caribbean themed lounge that has been announced and is rumoured to take over the space formerly allocated to the Pirates League.
  • That pirate-makeover experience, largely similar to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique elsewhere in the park, has been shuttered since 2020, where its permanent closure was announced well ahead of the closures as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
  • While the walls have not been fully removed, those who frequent the area can see that they have been scaled back, leaving certain portions of the Pirates gift shop covered, mostly near the aforementioned Pirates League location.
  • Immediately exiting the attraction, guests will also notice wide pathways as much of the walls in this immediate area have also been reduced or removed entirely.
  • First announced several years ago, the recent D23: Ultimate Disney Fan Event confirmed that a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge would be opening in the Winter of 2025.
  • No specific opening date has been announced at this time.
