97th Academy Awards – Winner from The Walt Disney Company

It's Hollywood's Biggest Night for the 97th time!

The 97th Academy Awards took place tonight, March 2nd, and celebrated the last year in film and marking Hollywood’s biggest night. While films such as Wicked, Anora, Emilia Pérez and others saw several nominations, as it relates to Disney and our readers, Searchlight’s A Real Pain and A Complete Unknown led the pack.

However, during the awards, it was Anora and The Brutalist, along with Emilia Pérez that seemed to have taken home the Oscar gold. Wicked also won in several categories, and Dune 2 taking home some sound and visual effects awards.

To most animation fans, this year’s win going to Flow was really no surprise, though some others expected Dreamworks’ The Wild Robot to take home the award.

Along with the aforementioned, other arms of The Walt Disney Company were nominated as well, including the Nat Geo documentary Sugarcane, Pixar’s Inside Out 2, a nod for Elton John’s song “Never Too Long" from the film of the same name, and effects nominations for 20th Century’s Alien: Romulus and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

However, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in a ceremony hosted by Conan O’Brien, The Walt Disney Company only took home one of these prestigious awards, which you can see below.
