New “20/20” Investigates the Shocking Murder of a Famed Real Estate Developer
ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly reports on the shocking murder of Gary Triano.
This week’s brand-new edition of ABC’s 20/20 will investigate the shocking murder of famed real estate developer Gary Triano.
What’s Happening:
- In 1996, successful real estate developer Gary Triano was blown up by a remote-controlled pipe bomb in Tucson, Arizona.
- The case has baffled authorities for years, but as investigators continued to search for a killer, a trail of deceit, betrayal and revenge began to reveal itself.
- Gary’s business was in trouble and his personal life was also turbulent, as Gary’s second ex-wife, former model Pamela Phillips, controlled his $2 million life insurance policy.
- After following theories such as a possible mob hit, the trail of evidence eventually led investigators to Pamela, who authorities discovered had been romantically involved with fugitive Ronald Young, and authorities charged both with first-degree murder.
- 20/20 investigates the twists and turns of this case, including an international search across several countries and featuring interviews with retired ATF criminal investigator Anthony May; retired Detective James Crowley, Aspen Police Department; retired Detective James Gamber, Pima County Sheriff’s Department; and Kevin McDonald, Pamela’s former nanny, among others.
- The all-new 20/20 airs on Friday, January 24th (9:01-11:00 p.m. EDT) on ABC, streaming the next day on Hulu.
