“Doctor Odyssey” and “9-1-1” Come Together for Crossover Event Next Month on ABC

It’s like The Flintstones meet The Jetsons, just with a lot more soapy drama!

Two popular ABC shows from Ryan Murphy are coming together for a crossover event next month.

What’s Happening:

  • Variety reports that Doctor Odyssey and 9-1-1, both shows from Ryan Murphy Productions and both airing on ABC, will collide in a special crossover episode of the soapy, seafaring medical drama.
  • Continuing Doctor Odyssey’s premise of each episode being centered around a different themed cruise, the action takes place during Casino Week aboard The Odyssey, and “unexpected guest Athena Grant suspects two passengers are targeting the ship’s vault," the logline explains. “Enlisting Max’s help, Athena raises the stakes in a dangerous game where not everyone will end up with a winning hand."
  • The crossover event will air on Thursday, March 20th.
  • This is not the first time 9-1-1 has been involved in a crossover arc, with firefighters from Los Angeles previously heading to Texas to lend a hand on 9-1-1: Lone Star (which airs on Fox).
  • Additionally, another 9-1-1 spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville, is in the works for ABC’s 2025-26 season.
  • Both 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey air Thursdays on ABC, beginning at 8 p.m – returning for new episodes on March 6th.
  • Doctor Odyssey will return in the most splashy way possible – a shark attack!
