EW Debuts the New Look for Elliott in Pete’s Dragon

Entertainment Weekly has debuted the first good look of the new Elliott from the upcoming remake of Pete's Dragon. 

As you can see, he is a complete reimagining of the character, though director David Lowery says they retained some features “Certain things about the original design we loved: Big jaw, big snout, and a clumsy quality that we really wanted to not completely forget about.”

He continues to say that modifications were necessary to make the character fit the photo-realistic world of the film while keeping his friendly personality in the new environment.

The new Pete's Dragon will be released August 12.
