News is breaking about a fire inside the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure at Disneyland. The Anaheim Police department has just tweeted confirmation of fire, saying it involves multiple vehicles. "At this time we don't know the extent of the damage to all those vehicles, but nine vehicles were impacted by the fire," Sgt. Daron Wyatt with the Anaheim Police Department said in a statement to ABC 7. However, the department later tweeted more specifics, indicating that eight cars were involved, four of which were total loses. It appears the fire took place on the second level of the structure ("Daisy").
The structure was evacuated and traffic was being diverted. Trams from the parks were also reportedly halted. Guests were let back into the structure to retrieve their vehicles around 6:50 p.m. Disney says they are investigating the cause of the fire although no foul play is suspected.
Disney has also tweeted about the closure and eventual reopening of the structure, but did not mention the cause specifically:
According to reports, the fire broke out around 4:35 p.m. Pacific and was contained shortly after 5:30 p.m. Medics treated some smoke inhalation victims, which Orange County Register reports were Cast Members. Four were hospitalized .
