ESPN tvOS App
ESPN today released an update to its tvOS app with new features and enhancements for WatchESPN users on Apple TV. Now called the ESPN App, the update includes:
- Live Streaming Auto-Play: Upon launching the app, a live stream of one of ESPN’s networks will now automatically play for authenticated users.
- ESPN Video On Demand: A new collection of curated on-demand videos including hundreds of hours of additional content from 30 for 30, E:60, Outside the Lines, SC Featured, World Series of Poker, X Games and more.
- Sleeker, Simpler User Interface: In addition to visual graphic enhancements to Featured content, users can also browse videos by Sports & Events or Channels.
Today’s update launches ahead of the premiere of ESPN’s “We the Fans,” an eight-episode multiplatform original series that chronicles the lives of Chicago Bears season ticket holders in Soldier Field’s Section 250 during the 2016 season. The first four episodes will be available to stream exclusively to authenticated subscribers through WatchESPN and the ESPN App on April 9th – two days before its TV airing on ESPN.
