“Frozen” Secures Three Tony Nominations

Just like Oscar nomination day means everything to filmmakers, the Tony nominations are what playwrights and performers get excited about. This year, Broadway newbie, Frozen is among those nominees. After a successful preview run in Denver and on Broadway, the live stage production of the wildly popular 2013 animated movie, has put smiles on audiences' faces and touched their hearts. This morning, the nominees for the 2018 Tony awards were announced with Frozen receiving nominations in three categories: Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Book of a Musical. Best Book of a Musical Frozen, Jennifer Lee Mean Girls, Tina Fey SpongeBob SquarePants, Kyle Jarrow The Band’s Visit, Itamar Moses

Frozen officially opened on Broadway on March 23rd. The musical score was written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez who also wrote the music for the movie. Frozen stars Caissie Levy as Elsa, Patti Murin as Anna, Jelani Alladin as Kristoff, Greg Hildreth as Olaf, John Riddle as Hans, Robert Creighton as Weselton, Kevin Del Aguila as Oaken, Timothy Hughes as Pabbie, and Andrew Pirozzi as Sven.

Tune in to The 2018 Tony Awards on June 10th to see if Frozen will be victorious in all of their nominated categories.
