Universal Orlando to Encourage Guests to Wear Face Coverings at Indoor Locations
Following new CDC guidance, Universal Orlando Resort will encourage but not require guests to wear face coverings at all indoor locations across the resort, according to WFTV 9.
- Universal Orlando Resort is encouraging all guests “to follow CDC guidelines and local directives to wear face coverings while indoors across our destination.”
- Additionally, all Team Members will be required to wear face coverings while working in indoor guest areas.
- Team Members will also be required to continue to practice social distancing.
- These changes to the policy will take effect on Saturday, July 31.
Other policy changes:
- This news comes hours after both Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts announced that they would both be reinstating their face covering policies for guests at all indoor locations.
- The policies will return to both resorts effective tomorrow, Friday, July 30.
- The decision was made in response to a press conference by the Centers for Disease Control on July 27th, which stated that anyone in a high-infection area should wear a face covering at public indoor locations, regardless of vaccination status.
- Before the CDC’s announcement, Orange County, FL Mayor Jerry Demings asked businesses to require face coverings indoors.
- Earlier today, the California Department of Public Health made a statewide recommendation for wearing face masks indoors.
