- Just a few weeks back, Richards sent a letter announcing that he would be stepping down as host of Jeopardy!, following multiple controversies that have come up from insensitive comments previously made.

- Today, Sony Pictures Television released a message to staff stating that Richards will no longer be executive producer of both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
- Michael Davies from Embassy Row will be stepping in to help with production until further notice.
