Marvel Launching New “Spider-Man & Wolverine” Ongoing Comic Series in May

The two mega-popular characters will team up on a monthly basis.

Two of Marvel’s most popular characters, Spider-Man and Wolverine, are set to team up in a new ongoing monthly comic book series.

What’s Happening:

Polygon broke the news about the new comic, shockingly titled Spider-Man & Wolverine, which will launch in May. Writer Marc Guggenheim will team with artist Kaare Andrews for the new series.
Per Marvel, “Their personalities may clash, but when Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and the Best There Is join forces, few threats in the Marvel Universe can stand in their way! Now, the odd couple is back together to tackle a mystery deeply rooted in secrets from both their pasts…

The series finds a mysterious force targeting the unlikely duo “as Logan and Peter Parker find themselves up against the machinations of a plot too big for just one hero."
While this will be the first ongoing series focused solely on the two characters, Spider-Man and Wolverine have teamed up many times, with Logan sometimes with and sometimes without his fellow X-Men during these encounters. Besides one-off guest appearances in each other’s books or appearing alongside each other in various crossovers, the two starred in 1986’s Spider-Man Versus Wolverine one-shot and in the 2010 six-issue Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine miniseries, while spending plenty of time together as part of the team in The New Avengers comic that kicked off in 2005.

Both Spider-Man and Wolverine appear in numerous monthly comics thanks to their popularity, and Spider-Man & Wolverine will now be the second current ongoing comic featuring Logan and a pal, following the recent debut of Deadpool/Wolverine. These guys know how to keep busy!

Spider-Man & Wolverine #1 will be released on May 7 with the main cover by Andrews and variant covers from Mark Bagley, Clayton Crain and Dave Marquez.
