Photos: New Butterbeer Merchandise and Second Generation Interactive Wands Arrive at Universal Orlando

March 1st marks the beginning of Butterbeer Season, along with the introduction of the Second Generation Interactive Wands at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Butterbeer Season is upon us at Universal Orlando Resort, bringing with it a slew of new merchandise items inspired by the iconic Harry Potter indulgence. Additionally, today also saw the introduction of an all-new collection of Second Generation Interactive Wands.

Butterbeer Season

  • Butterbeer Season is returning to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.
  • From March 1st through May 31st, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will host new and returning food items for the event, allowing fans to enjoy the butterscotch and shortbread flavors of the drink in new ways.
  • A new merchandise line will also launch, allowing fans to represent the iconic themed treat.
  • Butterbeer is a favorite of Witches and Wizards, and can be enjoyed in various ways year round, including cold, frozen, hot, and non-dairy varieties, as well as Butterbeer fudge, potted cream, and ice cream.
  • We stopped by the Universal Studio Store in CityWalk to see what Butterbeer themed items we could find available for purchase.

Second Generation Interactive Wands

  • Available in four designs, the Second Generation Interactive Wands will give guests an enhanced and exhilarating wand magic experience that includes several new features such as illumination effects and haptic vibrations custom to each spell so they can see and feel the results of their spellcasting like never before.
  • Housed in an exclusive, unique package marked with a wand burst icon, each wand will include a spell map that outlines locations they can practice magic, as well as information on how to take their wizarding legacy to a new level with Universal Play, available within the Universal Orlando Resort App.

  • This display lets guests learn about the brand-new locations to cast spells at all three Wizarding World locations – Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and Place Cachée.
